"Whoever knows Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, without doubting, is the knower of everything. He therefore engages himself in full devotional service to Me, O son of Bharata."
~ Lord Sri Krishna to Arjuna, Bhagavad Gita Text 15.19
Our Vision
At Kalālayā, through our combined curriculum of classical music, soulful Bhajans, and complimentary Bhagavad Gita course, we envision grooming compassionate individuals who naturally embody prayer, worship and selfless dedication in their daily lives. our vision is to raise the spiritual vibrations of our community by making the ancient tradition of Nava Vidha Bhakti accessible and living. We strive to create an ecosystem where students first hear the magnificent pastimes of the Lord and His devotees (Shravanam), and are then empowered to express their own devotion through song (Kirtanam).
Our Founder
Vidhya Venkat is the visionary Founder of Kalālayā. A Computer Science Engineer by education, Vidhya spent 6 successful years navigating the corporate tech world with industry giants like Infosys and Cognizant. However, a higher calling eventually guided her back to her truest lifelong passions - singing, teaching and connecting with scriptures. Her musical journey has been enriched under the guidance of esteemed gurus such as Mrs. Ashwathy Balaji, Mrs. Kala Baburao, Mrs. Vaidehi, and Sriman Karur Krishnamoorthy Sir. She had trained in Bharatanatyam for over 9 years under Mrs. Usha. She has also learnt to play Veena. As a vocalist, she has contributed to Mantra Trance albums alongside His Grace Yashoda Kumara Dasa, who has been a pillar of support and has composed music for 3 of her albums - Rasika Vaibhava, Rama Vaibhava and Krishna Vaibhava. Beyond music, Vidhya is deeply committed to sharing spiritual wisdom. She is among the few volunteers teaching the Bhagavad Gita at her alma mater, and she continues to inspire teachers, students of Kalālayā, and seekers everywhere with its timeless teachings. An artist since childhood, she chose to step away from the corporate ladder to embrace what felt like a divinely orchestrated path. What began as sharing stories from Puranas, Ithihasas and the beauty of Carnatic music with loved ones has beautifully blossomed into Kalālayā: a thriving cottage dedicated to nurturing music and spirituality in hearts worldwide.
